Winter DH series at Bootleg Canyon

It seems like the dust hasn't even settled yet and we are already getting notices about the winter Downhill Racing in Bootleg Canyon. That's right, they already have the first race of the year open for registration knowing you will be needing a gravity fix.

If you are wondering what the competition is like well, lets just say that most of America's top ranked riders show up "just to train" but it truly is loaded with fast dudes, like my buddy Mitch Ropelato, Aaron Gwin, Kevin Aeillo and the whole KHS wrecking crew.

It is great to see a race organizer get the office bullcrap out of the way so they can work on promoting the event and making it better. The Bootleg promoters have been raising the bar every year since taking over the reigns after the founders passing. They have turned it into a legitimate series, got tons of great sponsors, and like I metioned earlier have their administration duties all buttoned up. They even offer some solid discounts for those riders who can make the commitment early to the race.

I wouldn't be doing my job if I didn't tell you they have also included a Super D race into the mix and for their March event are including a dual slalom course. Finally, a dual slalom race...hello America, have you not seen dual slalom? Hae you raced one? Its fun, its fast and best of all its easy to see who won!

So congrats to the boys over there (Downhill Mike) now get out there and register for first race of the year - then get out and train for it..
