Wilier - 100 plus years of Peleton excellence comes to America

July 26th, 2010 5:33pm

cento_uno.jpg When I hear Italian made, my mind immediately goes to beautiful craftsmanship, prancing horses, speed and beauty. When I went to Interbike this year, I found just that at the Wilier booth. Another Italian toy to put on my list... Started in 1906 (yes 102 years ago!), Wilier is beyond tradition. It has heritage, lineage and as I have learned, a tradition of winning. Better yet, instead of teasing you with a bike you can't find, Wilier is coming to America for 2009 and Mark Deterline, spokesperson for Wilier Bikes shares some of the history of the brand that has won everything in cycling and is still on top of the scene. Sweeping the World Championships this year with Alessandro Ballan first and Damiano Cunego second there's not much more to say. This is one of those great stories of a small company that doesn't spend millions to convince you they are good. They let the victories do the talking. If you want to riding something different, something better, something with 100+ years of heritage behind it. This is your chance to stand out, way out.
