SRAM XO 1x11 DriveTrain Rolled out

By now you have heard about the SRAM XX1 - 1x11 set up they rolled out last year. And if you're like most riders, you had to question whether or not you could push a single ring in the front. Even solid riders were asking that very question. So instead of speculating the answer, we went directly to the source and spoke with Duncan Riffle over at SRAM. A former world cup racer and now MTB Marketing guy, Duncan knows his way around bikes and did a great job at enlightening me about the 1x11 set up and why any rider should be able to run it.

I must admit, after the explanation, I finally got it and I am anxious to try it out.  Especially since it simplifies the cockpit of the bike, removes weight and saves money over not having to buy another shifter and derailluer.

If that's not enough reason to look hard at the 1x11, have a look at all the wins the company is racking up in every discipline. If they can win on it, surely it will work for me. I am curious to what you think. Have you tried it? Will you try it? Why or Why not?
