Practice is under way as the UCI World Cup Championship returns to Mont Sainte Anne in Quebec Canada for 2011. The site of last years world championship venue is the fourth stop on the UCI tour this year. Judging my the video below, this years conditions could not be more different. Last year saw hot and dusty conditions for practice give way to the rains on race day. Getting worse as the day wore on.
This year is another story,Bicycle World TV has just spoken with Trek's Justin Leov and he reported that heavy rains have soaked the track and some incredibly huge holes have developed in several of the turns on the top side of the course.
While there are practice times posted, they really mean nothing as most of the top 15 riders have sat the day out. Danny Hart did throw in a practice run and holds the fastest time thus so far. As mentioned notice how rough and rutted this track has gotten especially throuhg the woods and rock section. It looks much more perilous this year than last - it is also much slower from top to bottom.
