Under continued muddy condidtions and intermitten rain, Team Santa Cruz' Greg Minnaar took top honors and points in the mens qualifier just ahead of his arch rival Aaron Gwin. The two have been battling it out all season and we should expect no less in this race.
On the womens side, Tracey Moseley of the Trek World Team returned to the course where she won her first world championship just one year ago and promptly set the top womens time for the first qualifier position.
Greg Minnaar navigates a rocky section on his way to setting the fast qualfying spot at Mont Saint Anne. While qualifying isn't the race, it does award valuable points in the championship chase.
Women's points leader Tracey Moseley of the Trek World Wide team captured the pole for the small women's field. Moseley is returning to the very same track where she won her first world Championship last year.
Points leader Aaron Gwin was close to Minnaar with a second best time in qualifying. Gwin and Minnaar are locked in what is shaping up to be an epic battle for the championship.
