Limar reveals worlds lightest helmet.

July 22nd, 2010 3:25pm

Limar Pro 104 Helmet In keeping with bringing you great products from small companies Italy's Limar Helmets rolled out the world's lightest helmet at Intebike '09. The new Pro 104, boasts a weight of 170 grams in size medium - perfect for weight weenies, climbers and those that would prefer not to wear a helmet at all. That's 10 grams less than Limar's previous top-of-line model. For U.S. residents, however, the weight is 200 grams due to beefier construction necessary to meet CPSC safety requirements. Even at 200 grams, the Pro 104 takes the lightweight title. Limar's helmet has 22 vents and -- nice touch -- the ones facing forward have a mesh screen to keep out airborne insects. An easy-to-use dial at the back lets you adjust the head-hugging cradle for a secure fit. We will be able to provide a real test review in the near future as we will be getting our hands on one of these to see how it performs and feels day- in and day-out. The Italian-designed Pro 104 is made in China (as are most all helmets) and will retail for about $200 when it becomes available at the end of the year. Color
