Interbike - Promises, Predictions and Vice's

It's no secret it has been a tough year.

When you ask, people will give you a chipper "hello, thing are doing fine' sort of an answer. Never really letting on to the real picture. So this lends itself to the most recent topic of discussion - Interbike.

A veritable candy store for the cycling enthusiast, everyone is asking each other, what do you think it will be like this year. Without going into the plethera of theories I have heard, let me share with you my promises, predictions and yes, my vice's for this years sin city extravaganza.

Lets start by dispensing with the fun stuff - my vice(s). I love Interbike because it combines two of my favorite vices, riding and gambling. Together in one place at the same time this pilgrimage to the desert is something that my local bike shop and I talk about 365 days a year. Either planning the debauchery of an upcoming trip or reliving the lore of Interbikes gone by.

I also get to drool over the newest stuff that I gotta ride, play craps and consume mass beverages all night. Sleep. Who needs it? I can sleep when I'm dead. And lord knows I always manage to serious harm to myself at least a couple of nights every year. This year the plan is the same, talk to marketing managers, talk to athletes, film interviews, shoot new products to report on, go to Vegas Cross, drink, gamble, sleep a little, repeat for five consecutive days-then recover. As for promises, Interbike 09 happening Sept 21-25.
