The celebration know as Crankworx has wrapped up its ninth edition with two monster events to close out the circus; The Canadian Open Downhill and its infamous hecklers rock and the slopestyle showdown on the big JoyRide hill.
Steve Smith clearing Hecklers Rock
While the Slopestyle event has always been the signature event, Crankworx has grown into much more than simply slopestyle. Crankworx has something for everyone from gravity hounds to pump trackers and jumpers. And with nine events now making up the week you got to give it up for Steve Smith who managed to win three events including, Garbonzo DH, A-line Air DH and wrapping it up with a win in the Canadian Open Downhill. In every race Smith managed to set course records in the dry conditions. Timing could not have been better for Smith's confidence as he heads into the World Championships. Smith crushed everyone in his races including fending off Brian Lopes by three seconds in Brian's signature A-line race.
The win by Smith gave him the very well deserved King of Crankworx Crown.
